We Are Officially Licensed to Fly Drones
As of a few weeks ago, we are officially licensed to fly drones commercially in the United States!
Hey there! It’s Nate again. After studying extensively for the better part of the summer, I took the FAA UAS Part 107 exam and passed with a 97%.
Many don’t know, but in order to fly a drone commercially is the US, one must be certified by the FAA by successfully passing that exam. The exam tests one’s ability to read sectional charts, know the laws that dictate US airspace, and understand weather and how it pertains to flight! (Among other areas of knowledge).
Now that I’m fully licensed (and insured), Wind Media Co is now able to offer aerial cinematography & drone videography as a stand-alone service, or as part of our full productions.
This has been a really interesting new perspective to be able to add to client videos, as well as film stock footage of beautiful New England. (I’m low-key trying to film enough fall foliage that the beautiful colors can hold me over until next year.)
If you have any questions at all about how our new services might be able to help your business, or if you already have some ideas and want to book a filming date to make it happen, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I’m always happy to chat.
